He didn't put the clause in the contract, Clemson did. Basically, he has a buyout, like any coach, that must be paid if he goes to another school. However, if he were to leave for Bama, then they buyout INCREASES! It's a way to deter Bama from calling. Also of importance is the fact that he agreed to it. He's not going to Bama.
