Same concept as picking up your dribble then stepping back behind the line to shoot a three. Only in this play you pick up your dribble throw a head fake to get the defender in the air then dribble around him for the shot. Completely legal and very popular in today's NBA

I saw that when I watched the video. That may be why the player was laughing so much after the play; he knew he got away with it.

They get away with the step back a lot even after both hands on the ball. But I don't think you're going to see a rule that says it's legal!

Seriously, I hope DK does well in the NBA. Hate that he has to play alongside the James's. Shepherd hometown is approx 60 miles from my home, so I'll root for him wherever he plays.

Most of them play Defense now. I really don't see how they get shots off the defense is so good. I only watch when certain players are playing, I will watch DK and Shephard for sure!

If the defender is 1 step away from him when he catches the ball….thats about a half a step too far! Love his quick release
