I know these are popular with a lot of turkey hunters. Bass Pro Shops has them in their ad for $140 (regular price $240).
Agreed. From everything I've heard (from folks that wear 'em) they live up to every single bit of the hype and you'll be perfectly tickled with them. I've been close to ordering twice over the years but dang...thats a lot of cheese for boots. Let us know how they work out for you.Setterman said:I have yet to find a truly decent pair of snake boots, therefore I shelled out some serious coin for a pair or russell's this year and will see if they live up to the hype.

X2, my good friend that I turkey hunt with every year has an older pair (pre GORE TEX model purchased in 2000) and he really likes them. He has worn them on most every turkey hunt for the past 12 years in a lot of varied terrain in TN, KS and SD. He has sent them back twice to have some minor restitching done. He said "the only downside to his exact pair is they are waterproof as leather can be." As stated before, his are NOT GORE-TEX lined which he prefers (lighter, not as hot) for his typical terrain (middle TN with some streams, but no bottomland/swampland). He said if he hunted in a big bottom or standing water very often, he would wear some type of rubber knee boot or accept the fact his feet would be damp/wet at times.Boll Weevil said:From everything I've heard (from folks that wear 'em) they live up to every single bit of the hype and you'll be perfectly tickled with them.

I can't help it if you got a bad pair.Setterman said:CAMARO12 said:I've had nothing but the best of luck from Danner Pronghorn Snake Boots. Maintenance is the key. Any boot should last more than 2 weeks, and not need leather treatment, that is the issue with Danner's. They never lasted long enough for the leather to even get broken in.
