ok i am set to get either the Double Glass or the Crystal Mistress but for the life of me i cannot decide. Anyone run both of these and have an opinion. I am leaning toward the Double Glass at the moment. I talked to David on the phone today and according to him the Double glass is just much more raspy tone where the Crystal has a higher pitch and a bit more bark at the back end.
 
i got a crystal mistress but have not used it yet. however, it sounds awesome and so realistic. just ask bigj. :grin:

i'll use it saturday at the fort and let you know!

I wish i would have just bought his when he sold it for nothing.

I just havent run either of them personally but i do like a raspy call! and i also like the price better on the Double Glass.
 
I have the double glass and mine sounds good. I emphasize mine because no two calls sound exactly the same, regardless of the measures taken in building them. Mine has a nice roll over with a good bit of rasp to boot. I do not think you can wrong with ANY of David's call as I own a few and have been using his pots since 2004. I played the CM at the convention this year and it sounded great, I just did not need another call at that point. If I am not mistaken, David hunts with a double glass, that ought to tell you something. :)
 
yeah, i have his slate and it is by far the best one i have used. I am pretty much sold on the double glass at this point though.

it was pretty cool talking to him today. I called and left him a message on his cell and he called me back in like 30mins.

I talked to him a good bit about each call and he ran some over the phone for me, just a cool dude no doubt.
 
I ran them at the show and when i picked up the crystal mistress i couldnt put it down. I told the salesman i want this one and he said ok let me see if we got any left and i said no i want this one and i left with the one laying on the table. lol
 
well i called david back and said "ok, if you could only take 1 call to the woods which one would you choose?" he said "the mistress with the Double glass a close 2nd"

so i went with that, however i told him i like alot of rasp in my calls so he said he would go through a bunch of them and find one with the most rasp to it to send me.

Again, great guy to deal with and talk to!
