TnReb on OldGobbler.com has some 7 boxes for sale for $20 a box.

Yes, but he's 4 hours away and no rebate. After shipping minus the rebate these are $17.59 a box to my door. That is a good deal he has on the lot though. $125 for 7 boxes.

Sorry for sounding ignorant but is this $17.59 for a box of 5 or 10? I don't shoot hevi shot, I'm too cheap for that crap lol

5 to a box. Every year I say I'm going back to lead when I run out of Hevishot. Then after season I reflect on how devastating they were on the turkeys and I buy some more. I bought a box of Longbeards and they throw a killer pattern but I just can't put the Hevishot down. When you look at all the money that goes into a turkey season a few shells a year are a drop in the bucket.

I bought a box of Longbeards when they were on clearance, but haven't shot em yet. Other than gas or an occasional new piece of gear, I don't spend much on turkey season. Probably most of my money is wasted on convenience store snacks when I should be bringing a sammich.

It seems it can be a Huge investment to get the right pattern but HOW MANY TURKEYS DO YOU SHOOT!? ;)

The rounds don't rot and if it helps the bird be more dead its a good investment. I didn't have the upfront cost to support patterning with hevi so I use longbeards. I really have nothing to worry about. I can't call a turkey to start with.

That's where my problem comes in. I love to shoot paper. If I went to Longbeards I could shoot all I want. As it is, my scope is zeroed, and my son's scope is zeroed, so I just shoot one shot in each gun to check zero. Don't worry about those Longbeards at all. They throw a crazy good pattern. Amazing patterns when you consider it's lead.
