I love figuring out ways to improve my gear. My decoy of choice is a semi-strut jake because it is effective the entire season. However, I wanted a decoy that has the potential to be a full-strutter as well.

So I took my carry lite semi-strut decoy and used a head and fake tail fan from two different decoys. I also used a white, paintable marker to make the head and wing feathers look more realistic.

Cool! I use a real Jake fan in my pretty boy myself!

I have a couple of real fans but I only use them if I'm going to set up in a field. They are a pain to try and carry all day.

I put a real jake fan in my b-mobile and a real jake beard. It worked one morning, joker hit the ground running and my buddy put the smack down on him. Looks Good String Music !

I have mine between a folded piece of cardboard and can get a full season before its looking too ragged, then I just replace with a new one!
