Im planning on hunting a field tomorrow opposite of the ridge where the toms have been roosting. I was wondering what decoys you guys have been setting up and had luck with. As in just hens, hens and a jake, or hens and a tom. If it matters my jake decoy is a jake mobile with a real jake fan, and my tom decoy is a killer-B with a real tom fan. All inputs are welcomed, just trying to be as prepared as possible for some last weekend action.

Thanks!

I'd use a jake and two hens. I think the strutter-type decoys are best suited for early season, but can also be effective this time of the year when the gobblers are fighting over the remaining hens. Also, put one of the hens in a breeding position with the jake decoy close behind.

Just finished getting my B-mobile ready and just read this. Going after #4 in the morning with a similar situation. Going to try to go after this big Tom that's owned this field all season. We've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at him and he won't budge, including some hen & jake decoys. B-mobile is the only thing I haven't tried with him. I called a bird in for a friends daughter on the juvenile. He came in 100 yards, topped a knoll about 75 yards away, then tucked tail and ran once he saw B-mobile. So, needless to say I have been a little skittish about using him this season. But gonna try again. I think this one Tom I've been watching is just egotistical enough to come after him. If B-mobile brings him in in the morning, I'm changing his name to Kitchen Sink. Good luck bro.
