Put this one out about a month ago, hard to tell from the pic but they are tearing the ground up good so far. Pretty good chunks of mud dug out.Prob put cameras back out in a couple weeks

It sure looks to be working. I would also like to know how you made it and why you decided to hang it instead of just dumping the minerals on the ground like most people do.

At tractor supply you can buy 30 lbs of crushed trophy rock for $13 and 50 lb bag of same minerals as block for $6. Pretty cheap for 80 lbs. I mix about 50/50 and use about 3 lbs each sock. Tie a good knot and cut excess sock off, use bailing twine to hang them- got the idea from bag-r-buck, just way cheaper and legal all year. Was going to sell them but didn't seem to go over too good so just use them myself, lol

What if it doesn't rain for a while?
forgot to mention I usually do pour a bottle of water over it to get it started, seems to work ok so far. Havnt tried it yet but thought about poking small hole in bottom also

Good idea, Loose Trace mineral salt is the only way to go for your money! Works great, very affordable, deer will tear it up as good as anything.

Why is this Legal year round? I thought minerals were just another form of baiting. Thank you for your thoughts and for sharing you techniques.

It's not considered baiting as long as it's only minerals. You can use a salt lick all year but you cannot use anything that has a food source( from my understanding of the regs)

You can actually put anything you want out for the deer, feed them well, just cant HUNT over it.
