I have three different salt/mineral sites. I have two on my new property that's about 15 miles as the crow flies from my house and one behind my house. As expected the deer stopped visiting the salt on my new property end of September time frame but I get multiple pictures daily from behind the house where they are eating it. Same exact setup with a trophy rock and a bag of trace minerals on all three. Interesting to see the drastic difference.

There is a ton of soil difference in a 15 mile range. Obviously the deer are craving something behind your house!

We still have deer hitting our licks, just not as frequently. BUT they are also set up on travel funnels with an overhanging limb and scrape beside them, so some of that activity is not from actual salt consumption, but rather normal travel and communication.

I agree with Mega. I think it is differences in soil type. I've seen properties (and even individual licks) that deer hit all year round while other licks stop being used in mid to late September.
