I guess, imo, of the big three sports, baseball would be the least affected by talent differences between two teams.

One hot pitcher can completely shut down an offense, or at least limit it. And then our pitchers can have off days.

BUT, I honestly do not see us NOT winning it all. There may be a loss or two along the way, but this team has so many weapons that can pick each other up.

And I think TV can help against feeling the pressure of no No. 1 seed winning it all since '99 or whenever, and keep us level-headed.

I do know that it's good to have some meaningful sports to watch these next 3 weeks.

if the Vols don't win it all the entire season is a waste in my opinion. No one remembers 2nd place.
I disagree. When you have a year like this year's team you remember it. How many school records & SEC records did we set? You saw the comments above stating how exceedingly rare it is for the #1 overall seed to win it all. So I am torn because I think @PalsPal is spot in the first post, but history says chances are slim for a #1 seed. Of course it will be a disappointment if we don't win it all but I won't write off the whole season as a failure if it doesn't happen.

See I think this is the most interesting part. I think the pressure of being a #1 may help. All year we saw this team need an edge to play their best ball.

True. It may be that Vitello approaches it like, "your blamed right we're #1 and we DESERVE it, now go take what is yours". :D

Just saw where Russell isn't available to catch tonight, so we are starting a freshman. TV will give status after the game.

Watch us have a run of Covid go through the team!

Looked like an accident when he hit it.
Good win, hope we keep it rolling & Russell is OK
Yea that second home run did look like it was just going to be a routine fly ball. The first one I think it was is when he hit it the pitcher didn't turn around and neither the outfield. Just crushed the ball

TV said that he had text him yesterday morning that he was sick. He also said something about checking with doctor.

But, Russell's dad supposedly posted on Facebook that he's fine.

Now, that may mean it's nothing serious, or some are speculating that there's nothing wrong and he's suspended.

So, who knows?
