Dobbs & The Heisman 2015!!

I seen that dont think it will happen because I dont think The vols will win more the 7 or 8 games:/ Most heisman are on teams that win 10,11 or 12 games:/ he should have a good Year a better year then 2014 but I dont see 11 game wins and heisman winning year lol hope he proves me wrong:)
people also say that LSU and Georgia's HB can win it:/ possible but I dont think so if Gordon didnt win it this year dont see them guys doing much better next season:/

I think its gonna be someone we dont know much about from a team thats gonna step up and surprise people kinda like Mississippi st did this year

I like Josh Dobbs. I think he is the QB for TN for the foreseeable future. He is going to have to sharpen his passing skills and the offensive line is going to have to make leaps and bounds from this season. He has the intelligence and the athleticism to be a Heisman candidate but unless he can hone his passing game, along with the team coming together around him, he won't even be a mention IMO.

His passing game has improved from last year to this year. Maybe another Manning QB camp and a full offseason knowing he's going to be the guy will do the trick. Quinten Dormady might, I say might, win the position outright but Butch is going to go with the experienced QB so Dobbs will be the guy. Unless things fall dramatically into place, he won't be a Heisman candidate though.

For Dobbs to win the heisman I think he would have to lead the team to 10-2 have big time games and wins over
UF on the road to brake the 10-0 streak:/ he would need to have a huge game and a win over Oklahoma. Or maybe a huge upset vs bama.
But my point is I think he would need to have a few HUGE games and take down some good teams like Oklahoma bama, UGA, MIZZ. And shock the sec and lead the vols to like a 10-2 record.
Dont see that happening see dobbs having a few BAD games against good teams and the vols going 7-5 or 8-4

I like the thought Wrangler and I hope the prediction is right but I've got a feeling your about to get roasted. :pop: :pop:

Yeah, just wait until the Gator and Elephant fans chime in!I know him winning the Heisman is a far reach but he has the talent if his passing game improves and OL improves greatly but help is on the way.Dormady and Jennings are very capable QB's and they will have something to say about who is QB at UT in 2015. :pop: Myself,I've always liked dual threat QB's.

You are probably feeling this because he has thrown for 10 TDs vs 11 INTs in his career and borders the 60% completion rate during his career. Those aren't Heisman #s no matter what team you play for. The last two games kind of exposed that he is one dimensional and is inconsistent throwing the ball. There's a reason Worley beat him out for the starting job.

Here's what this years Heisman QB did..... 38 TDs vs 2 Ints and completed 68.3 % of his passes.

No I actually had that feeling because there are certain fans on here that get their Jimmies by downplaying anything and everything about UT football.

The guy has played 8 games and has been thrown in midway through the season in the middle of SEC play twice.

Its cool with me if you dont think he is capable of being a good QB or even a Heisman winner. Its probably cool with Josh Dobbs as well.

I don't recall Tebow throwing very many completions his first few games, his running did more for him, that eventually opened up his passing game, I think the same can happen for Dobbs

I'm a VOLS fan all the way but I will have to disagree with you on this. Dobbs would have to improve drastically in his passing to even be in strong contention. He is a great running quarterback , but being a great running quarterback will not win you the Heisman. My biggest fear for Dobbs is whether or not he could last the entire season doing all that running. I think too many defenses will be keying on him and eventually he is going to get hurt. Tennessee is too predictable on offense right now. Either Dobbs is going to run the ball or Hurd is going to run the ball. They have to work on building an offense that is not so predictable. The passing game needs to be worked on. Even though I believe Dobbs is a very unique and talented athlete, winning the Heisman is probably not going to happen for him. Just my opinion. Hopefully he will prove my opinion wrong.

The big thing that hurt there offenses was there O-line it hurt the passing game bad dobbs is not the best passer but being hurried every play dont help not many QB's would have had good stats with the way the o-line played. We should have been a deep threat team with north, croom pig, von and other good receivers but o-line would not hold up long enough to give recovers time to get down the field that hurts also. Thats why they looked predictable at times teams was not scared of them throwing down field they knew it would be a run or short quick pass because thats all are O-Line would allow us to do.

O-Line improvement is the key to the vols being a 6-6 team next season or the vols being a 8 or 9 win team next season more then dobbs JMO dobbs needs to complete the wide open passes he dont need to be an amazing
double coverage between two guys passer. If the O-Line would give him time the team time them receivers are good enough to get open.

And it would help the run game also Hurd had bad blocking and every one knows if you get the run game going it opens up the field for the passing game

So JMO dobbs is important next season he could work on a few things get better take less hits BUT the o-Line is the HUGE spot on the field that needs to improve more then dobbs

I would like to see Dobbs get in the running for the Heisman because that would mean we are winning football games. He is not competing anywhere near that level at this stage of his career. He has created some excitement though that has been missing for a while though and has great potential to get us where we can win some games.

Heisman talk is a bit far fetched IMO.

What was funny was the night The Gamecocks lost to Dobbs. :rotf:

I really get a kick out of Gamecock fans downplaying anything UT,we own Spurrier. After Spurrier retires South Carolina will just sink back to depths they came from.South Carolina been in the SEC for over 20 years and havent even won the Eastern Division. Now thats funny!! :rotf:
