Who won the owl calling contest on AEDC about 6:00 this morning?

I was in unit 2 and it sounded like they were everywhere. Then about 7:30 I was working a good bird about 100 yds off the road in some pines, had him fired up and comin slowly my way when some idiot came down the road blowing a crow call every foot of the way. Ain't seen or heard that bird again.

I hate public land!!! But theys some good turkeys up there.

That's why I'm waiting till later in the season to go there. I work at the base and see some good birds going to and from work by the road almost every day, but dealing with people like you described can really ruin my day hunting. Better luck next time... :grin:

Used to fight those public land battles, we always had better luck during the week when everyone else was at work!
