Does Mac owe Butch for his still being at UF?

It's obvious. He has "won the east" twice, not for his own accomplishments, but Butch's failures.

He was suppose to reinflate the wind that Muschamp sucked out of the program, but that hasn't happened even with his two t-shirt titles.

I can envision a scenario where both schools are looking for new coaches after this season.

Anyways CJM has did well in the east last two years.

Even if the vols beat him in 2015 CJM still has back to back 9 win seasons his first two years at UF not bad.

Back to back east titles.

They seem to struggle against better teams they proved they can handle the weak east last two years & squeeze out wins over the 24th ranked vols in the swamp like this year.

Against better teams CJM has struggled.

0-2 against Michigan, both have been ugly.

0-2 against bama, they have not been pretty.

0-2 against FSU....

1-1 against LSU.... they was a yard away from being 0-2 in that series under CJM


Gonna be interesting to see what they do against a better UGA team this year & FSU.

Picked them to go 9-3 again & be No better at the start of the season (at the moment they look worse)

The offense still looks awful.

O yeah I agree, CBJ should have a better recored then he has that's a fact.

The question was has coach Jones let Mac off the hook by not being able to close those games... I think the answer to that is no. Coach mac still wins 9 games his first two years even if CBJ wins in 2015 & 2016.

But like mark richt.

Mac needs to start beating some of those better teams he needs to beat FSU needs to beat bama at some point needs to have that 10-2 season needs to get that offense clicking, needs to hope 10% of his team don't get in trouble again. that stuff may cost him his job down the road not CBJ being able to finish games. That's what I was saying.

Just thought it was funny you said he finishes games and CBJ don't when he didn't finish the game last year & this he made a big mistake and it came down to a freak luck play that should have never happened Or like G&B said they probably lose in OT. Yes 9 outta 10 times UF wins that game....but..... they didn't.... cause?..... Mac didn't close the game lol

CBJ does not do a good job in close games agree even if his won more then a few in the last moments/OT at Tennessee.

CBJ lost 7, that's right 7 games in his first two years in the SEC East. Those two season UT was just trying to get to a bowl game.

There's no comparison on how these two coaches produced in their first two years at their respective programs.

The answer to the question is that CBJ is not even a factor in CJM career. No one is bummed out in FL that UT won the "Champions of Life" or recruited a bunch of "Five Star Hearts"..... :mrgreen:

Maybe the title should read, "Does Butch owe Mac for being on the hot seat?"

Mark Richt won 2 SEC championships 6 SEC EAST titles Avg 10 wins a year still got canned.

heck in his last year 2015, he still went 9-3 & one of those losses was to a national title winning bama team lol fans didn't care they was sick of him not being able to get over the hump. Getting two the SEC chip game was no longer good enough they wanted to win it again 2002 & 2005 was the years he did win it so it had been awhile. 9 & 10 wins was no longer good enough.

if something happens to mac down the road I think it will be kinda like that of mark richt. where 9-3 & 9-4 even though that's a good season you the best in the east fans start getting mad they cant get over that hump
