Does Penn State knock Ohio State out?

They should but probably won't. They beat OSU head to head and won what most are calling the best conference this year. Their two loses are at Michigan and Pitt. Pitt beat Clemson, so that's not too hard to swallow, but the excuse will be the blowout loss to Michigan.

edited....^ what RobbyW said :)

IMO they should. Penn State won the toughest Conference in the Nation this year and in doing so they beat OH State head-to-head. Sure they got beat by Michigan, but they are playing much better today then they were in September.

But but Ohio State is the Team to beat ALABAMA this season . How can that be ? Lol

Nope.

PSU should have knocked UW out though.

Back to the desert. Love the Fiesta Bowl. A lot of Buckeye Nation have migrated there.

What a joke. Big Ten is inarguably the best conference in the country this year. PSU wins that conference by winning their last 9 in a row including a win over one of the teams in the playoff. Not only did OSU not win their conference, they didn't even win their division in the conference. If this was reversed and PSU was ranked 2 and OSU won the Big Ten, you can guarantee that OSU gets in. That being said, I actually agree that OSU should be in ahead of Washington. Here's hoping Bama makes a mockery out of Washington.

I agree with you. Big Ten should have two teams in. OSU and PSU. Penn St would hang with Alabama. Not so Washington.

Why wasn't osu even in their conference championship?
Seems weird a playoff team didn't even win their division.

Penn State just got screwed by the playoff committee. Head-to-head meetings and league titles mean nothing.

I don't know. We'll see. Like I've said before, will 2016 rhyme with 2006?

Didn't the 2006 season end with OSU getting schooled by Florida in the championship?

Are you looking for a repeat of that? :?

Because they lost to Penn State and Penn state was undefeated in their division of the Big 10.

Not actually.

Ohio State and Penn State tied for the Big Ten East with 8-1 records. Ohio State beat Michigan. Michigan beat Penn State. Penn State beat Ohio State. The Big Ten divisional tiebreaker when two teams are tied is head to head. Penn State played for the Big Ten championship by virtue of the tiebreaker and beating Ohio State.

Had Michigan not screwed things up for the second year in a row (i.e., had not had an inexplicable road loss to Iowa), Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan would have been tied for the East crown. The Big Ten divisional tiebreaker in that instance is, first, best overall record and, second, head to head. Ohio State and Michigan would have won the first tiebreaker (both 11-1 had UM not lost to Iowa and PSU 10-2). Then, Ohio State would have won the second tiebreaker, head to head over UM and would have played Wisky last night.

It's all Michigan's fault.

History doesn't repeat, it rhymes.

Who coached Florida in 2006? What team was the undisputed number one and highly favored?
