Set up this morning twice on a group of birds and couldn't get them to commit another 30 yards. They crossed a ditch and went into the woods across a field. We set up in a group of pines with some thick cover and called and waited. About 45 minutes later some hens start cutting behind us and one fires up. They enter the field and before long I called in 15 jakes to our jake and hen decoy. However the long beards stayed 100 yards away strutting and gobbling. The jakes returned to the gobblers and they fought and ran around for an hour before one of the gobblers got pissed and strutted his way to the dekes with the other in tow. Once they got 20 yards away it was one two boom and the rest is history. This is my wife's first long beard and the most excited day she has ever had in the turkey woods. Phenomenal morning.
