The hunt almost went by the script but was perfect in every way. Got set up on several gobbling birds on roost. They were about 100yds hammering on roost when a hen pitches down 60yds out. In a matter of seconds there was 3 long beards and 2 hens walking straight toward us. The get to 28yds and start to veer off so I draw and swack. 1 bird down! The other 2 began to flog him but would not sit still enough for my buddy to get a shot off and walk toward the middle of field about 150yds out we make few yelps and one turns and comes back in but is nervous and fast walking. He gets to 20 yds and my buddy tries a shot but shoots just behind him. He turns and heads back toward the other birds. Once he gets out to 100yds a few more yelps and the same bird turns around and comes back. This time my buddy made it count.

wow, that 2nd bird just wanted to die!

you are a better hunter than I....

I've never cussed so much during my life as when I tried to kill a LB with a bow. I think I blew 4 opportunities within easy bow range on the first 2 days of that hunt. Got picked off every time drawing my bow back. (Bird behind a large tree, birds in full strut facing away from me, etc.) I learned my lesson, and I will never choose to hunt with a bow again. It probably wouldn't be as hard out of a blind, but I just can't stand not being mobile.

That is SO cool! I've got one with a crossbow, but I have missed every time I've tried to use a "real" bow. :D

This my 3rd with a bow. And his second. Funny thing is this is the second time we've doubled with bows. The first was 2 years ago.

Good job chris!!!

Ya'll get those beans planted?
