Just like heroin dealers... free handouts to get people hooked.

Not against the sports book companies, I just find their methods distasteful.

Now come on. That's just not fair. I mean they do list the phone numbers for those with gambling problems to call at the end of their commercials :D !

(and yes, I realize that the only reason they do it is because it is required)

Its the same thing Casinos do, free plays when you sign up, comps like meals and free rooms etc...to keep folks playing.

The truly vile part of it with casinos, is they target retirees and people on fixed incomes.
No different than the lottery or scratch offs. The lure of easy money carries strong appeal. People that are going to gamble are going to find a way. Bookies were around before the sports books were legalized. It sucks that people gamble away money they can't afford to lose, but it's their money.

Actually, quite a bit different. Lottery tickets are at the counter, and run ads, but everyone is in one big basket. Casinos, on the other hand, arrange bus trips for groups of seniors to their casinos and then pile on the incentives to keep them coming back. I don't have a philosophical problem with the lottery, casinos or sports books, but the way the casinos in particular target people with fixed incomes is just wrong.

They target me every month too. I get flyers from at least 5-7 casinos monthly with "deals" inside

Bout ready to book another stay with them 😂

They sending a bus to pick you and 40 of your closest friends up? All of you being in your 70s?

I'm a few years away from that luxury. Hopefully I'm still able to drive myself.

Casinos target anyone who will spend a dime with them. I'd be willing to "bet" (pun intended) that a large percentage of those people on them buses have more than just a few bucks out of their monthly income to spare. Their money either way to spend as they wish

I get it. Unfortunately old folks get taken advantage of a lot.

They target seniors because retirees/seniors have the most disposable income of any other demographic in the Nation. I have never seen anything that suggested casinos target poor people. That wouldn't be a good business model.
