Lightweight, short barrel, compact 3" gun with minimal recoil that is plenty deadly to 50 yards. Pick your poison. I currently shoot a compact 870 in 20G with hand loaded TSS #9s. It has never disappointed.

im fortunate enough to have both of mine. M2 20 cerekoted with a 24' barrel and a FF3 set up, and a SBE2 with barrel and action work done/dipped in bottomland with a pistol grip and FF3 set up.

Agreed. Lightweight 20 ga 870 compact with TSS #9s. I couldn't ask for anything different.

Love my SBE2 with 28" barrel for wingshooting so if 12 gauge I'd say the same with a 24" barrel. Would probably go the M2 route if going to a 20 gauge.

Boy I was sure loving my 20g 870 youth trudging thru the swamp after a gobbler at noon today.

I guess if I ever don't kill one on the first shot, I may want an auto loader. Hasn't happened yet.

M2 20g with a 24" barrel.

I have the M2 20g, but line is a 26". I wish I had bought a 24".

I have an old Belgium browning 20 gauge. It's light as a feather and feels awesome shouldered. It's only 2 3/4 but if I can find a 22-24" barrel with chokes I think it might be my dream turkey gun.
