The Murphy Family from Oxford, MS just wanted to go fishing. They didn't really care where or what for. I debated on whether to go crappie fishing or head to the Chickamauga Dam tailwaters for a mixed bag drifting shiners. I opted for the mixed bag... and we got it.

Young Patrick hooked up with a 3 or 4 lb. striper 10 secs. into our first drift. On light tackle (6 lb. test) it was "Game On!" :pop:

After that it was a collection of stripe (white bass), spotted bass and smallmouth. No big smallies but we did catch some magnum stripe.

Here's my fishing tip de jour. When I drift live shiners, I use tiny hooks and usually use only a BB-sized split shot. I want that shiner swimming free and uninhibited. As per the below, it usually works, and that means life is good and gettin' better every day!
