Not a turkey, but still crazy surprised to have a killdeer already incubating her eggs on my farm in middle TN.

Been seeing a few around the driveway that goes from the house down to the barn but haven't found eggs yet.

Had one nest in our cattle coral last year. When we worked cows early she defended her nest against 75+ head of cows and calves and never lost one egg over a 3-4 hour time period. I was quite impressed

Great picture!....I'll have to watch gravel driveway between house and barn...we've had them nest in that stretch that crosses our pasture.

I found a nest once that was just in a slight bowl on the top of a large limestone rock. No cushioning between the eggs and the rock whatsoever. They hatched out all 4 successfully
