Early Oak Ridge hunt

I got drawn for the Oak Ridge hunt that is the same weekend as the statewide youth hunt. I've never hunted turkey on OR. I am assuming from reading the regs that you have to check in prior to hunting and check out prior to 1pm??

I'd appreciate any info from those that have hunted. And, if anyone that is not hunting there this year has seen some birds where I would have a starting point to listen, a PM would be kept private between us. I doubt that I will have time to go up for the scouting day, and suspect that I will only hunt one day since it closes at noon. If the Clinch is off where I could fish some in the afternoon, I might stretch it over for both days.

There is no check in or check out, unless you actually kill one. You just head straight to where you want to hunt, unless you're hunting in the Tower Shielding section, then you check in at the entrance gate for it. I've seen turkeys all over the place in previous years, but haven't been there since moving. A turkey hunt/fishing trip would be a lot of fun. Hopefully it works out for you.
