Early Scrape Activity

Found one right beside my camera this past Friday. When I checked the camera I determined it was made by a 3 hoofed deer. Missing his from foot (just below the knee). He had to work to do some pawing. By the way, his left side antler is messed up badly, kinda feel sorry for him...

tellico4x4,

If you don't mind sharing, what part of the state are those pictures from, and is that a natural or man-made scrape?

Southern Wayne & Hardin and is a natural scrape.

Wow, I'm surprised to see such early communal scraping activity that far south. Thanks for sharing!

Believe that it is the earliest that we have seen, or at least got pics of.

It is in a very well defined traffic cooridor that a lot of deer pass thru year round. Actually killed a mature buck about 100 yds from this spot the 1st weekend of last Dec while he was working a scrape.

I'll bet the salt lick, as a draw to many deer, helped create that "interaction point" (or you put the salt lick in an existing interaction point).
