East Tn public

There are good bucks in those mountains, but not worth it to drag them out anymore. The last one we killed on Cherokee took over 4 hours to get to a road we could legally take a vehicle on to get him loaded. Had it not been for some bear hunters who offered to help drag, it would have been another 2-3 hours, easy.

Been there done that!!!! The Forest service should open some of the roads that are normally closed during deer season. Took 4 hrs for me to get one out last year with a deer cart. Getting too old for that stuff. This year I'll be hunting a place where it's all downhill to the truck.

Huntin East TN since I was 15 yrs old and I am 32 now. Hoping the big one comes back on camera. I think the acorns have switched him up the last week and a half. I was seeing him almost everyday at a salt lick and now nothing for over a week. He was big tall and very wide 7 point. See my post in trail cam forum.

you do not need to drag with a proper pack system...learn how to quarter a deer and skin without gutting. need help just ask.
I can skin and quarter faster than most men. But at that time skinning an animal before physically checking it in was illegal. It may still be. Last I was told, leaving anything other than a gutpile on WMA land is against the law.

Mainly Anderson and Union Co. I may venture up to Cove Creek a time or two again. I used to have a couple great spots but the lazy loggers did those places in.
