Saw a guy on one at LBL last year on the north/South trail that is "no motorized vehicles".  His response was "I'll take my chances on a $50 ticket".  My response was not very nice.  Any motor at all puts everyone else at a disadvantage.  If you want to pedal a mountain bike, have at it.
