I am a realtor and was showing a forclosure a while back. When we got there there was a cleaning crew that was cleaning up the junk and throwing it all away. I noticed in one pile was an old turkey call. I picked it up and saw that it was an old Eddie Salter call. The fellow said they were going to throw it away and if I wanted it I could have it. I told him I'd lighten their load a little :) It is a square slate call with a 1" wide peace of slate running right down the middle and two sound holes in each end of it . I was even able to dig around and find the striker that came with it! Needless to say, it sounds great and I cant wait to use it this spring. Does anyone else have any Eddie Salter Calls? How old are they? Anyone have one similar to this one?

I believe the Eddie Salter call came out after Louis Stowe came out with a slate pot call that had two sound holes in it. I think the Stowe Away came out about 1979 or 1980.
The Stowe Away is a great call and I still have a couple of them.
