So, if you haven't noticed its been raining a lot, especially in Northern Kentucky. Yesterday after church we got a break and I hitched up the boat, called a friend and headed to the lake (Taylorsville). I've deer hunted it by boat and figured with a break in the weather there might be a turkey gobbling.
We finally got on the lake launching through a parking lot as all the two ramps we checked were closed. About 10 min into our run I realized my 14 ft john boat was the only boat out there...
We hunted for a few hours, and pushed it about 20 minutes too long when a lone gobbler finally fired up at 6:00. The bottom came out and running back across the lake I said more than my share of Easter prayers. We made it back fine, but I believe we pushed it more than we should have.
It was weird being on a 10,000 acre lake and not seeing another boat!
