....done! Finished the last years batch off today in a cup of coffee. Wasn't enough to save for cooler weather, to dang got to sip and the practically empty jar in my fridge was driving me nuts.

I suppose it's time to start this years batch...shall see how motivated I am in the coming weeks.

Anyone getting a head start this year? My batch got really good around late Spring which would put it at about 5-6 months old at that time, at about the 3 month time frame it started to change flavors and get more "complex". So if I start now it will be at that point come Christmas.

Love it, but have never had homemade. Never dreamed it would last that long. Store bought only last a few weeks. Would you mine sharing your recipe? I know I can google a recipe but having a tried and true would give me more confidence.

Thanks

I use the Alton Brown recipe, super simple and nog drinkers have approved so far. I know a few have made it in here and K have another friend that uses the same recipe. So far so good.

I really enjoyed it, but never think about making a batch until it's too late. There's no room in the budget for $75 worth of hooch, either.
