We should have had a double right off the limb, had 3 come to 30 yards in some thick stuff, I told Ethan to shoot the one on the far right, I'd kill the one on far left after he shoots... long story short, he just couldn't get on him so we let them go after they spooked a but. Went to another farm, and I spotted a lone stutter 800 yds away
I watched h for 5 minutes, didn't see any hens around, and knew it would be a chip shot for him if he really was by himself this early in the season. We made a huge circle around him, set up 100 yds from where we had seen him earlier, and I made a call. He answered over the rise . One more call and gobbled closer. A minute later and he came strutting over the rise on a string. I told Ethan to shoot after I cutt at him to stick his head up. I cutt, but he gobbled instead and Ethan blasted him at the base of the neck at 35 yards. Lots of little TSS pellets in the top half of one breast :(

2 yo, 20lbs, 1/2 in spurs, 9 in beard.

He thanked Jesus for the turkey, and I thanked Him for his sacrifice on the day we celebrate our promise. Happy Easter everyone!
