See the barb wire fence in the background? Notice how the lowest strand is broken? Yup, he managed mess up a slam dunk 25 yd shot by hitting it squarely. Not only that, as the gobbler was coming, I actually told him to be sure he sees the wire in the red dot and duck under it so as not to hit it.

Even worse, I didn't even get my 10g up to he ready for a followup it was such an easy kill. I love him to death, but I just don't recall making as many mistakes in the woods when I was his age.

And don't even get me started on how loud he is when he walks in the woods I've tried to explain the difference between 'quiet' and 'turkey quiet'.... but he just doesn't get it yet

Hate it for him but at least he's there. My son will deer hunt a little but doesn't give a flip about turkeys and I love it. That said it is amazing how a kid can sound like Bigfoot in the Woods. Mine is 15 now and I still tell him to be quiet when we're walking.

My lb who is 10 is beginning the get it. She's beginning to amaze me. Give him time he will come around.
