I have never seen it firsthand, but my best friend walked up on a rut-stricken buck in Illinois back in 1999 that was hard asleep and lightly snoring. My buddy was leery of the buck but kept easing toward him out of curiosity until finally at about 10 feet the buck picked his head up, realized danger was near and tore the woods up getting out of there. My buddy said it had him all confused from the second he spotted the buck. At first he thought the buck was injured and about to perish, but then he figured out he was just flat worn out from the rut. Pretty neat regardless. Thanks for sharing your pics.

LOL.. ^ Thats awesome.

I imagine they get pretty worn out. I've got trail cam pics this year of buckets that just looked drained and are running on pure horny-ness

years ago I shot with my Bow a Nice 8 pt that was sleeping. It was sleeping just like the one BSK posted. I was just walking to my stand and as I turned a corner around a patch of Brush there laid this Buck. At First I thought it was dead. I nocked an arrow at 15yrds and came to full draw. I then whistled and he picked his head up. I let the arrow fly and the rest was history.
