I have.

I thought since I had shot 3.5 duck loads I knew what a 3.5 turkey load was all about...wrong!!

I was shooting my factory 870 and draped my thumb over the stock like I would while wing shooting. I guess I really got into the stock and down on the rib and when I pulled the trigger I rung my own bell! Them things pack a punch! Im was 6'2" 220 at the time...

I kid you not. Ive been in a few scraps in my day and never been hit like that. Thought Id broke my nose. Eyes started watering, nose running and couldnt see. Plus I had a pounding headache...wasnt even shooting at a turkey.

But I learned my lesson and now lay my thumb on the side when shooting.

Shot a turkey a few years back with a differnt gun than I was used to. When I pulled the trigger, my thumb hit my eye so hard that it blacked it ! Killed the longbeard though, but both our noggins were sore. :D

Put a scope on my mossberg 535 last year and the first shot with the scope and some 3.5 winchester high velocities tore me up. I looked like I was round house kicked by Chuck Noris

I've had a bite or two on the bridge of my nose, usually from the scope of a rifle. Even standard calibers,i.e. .270's/.06's will get you when you get loosey goosey while sighting in. Also, at least once a year, I take my earmuffs off during the process and forget to put them back on when I shoot the next round. SAY WHAT??

I took a guy last year and he had never killed a turkey, We got a big group to 55 yards and he had a mossberg three inch gun and he said i cant shoot them that far. I managed to hand him my remington 3 1/2 loaded with nitros and it has a scope. I saw it before it happened. He leaned way up and peered throught the scope and blam. Almos ko'ed him. Prettiest half moon cut above his eye you ever saw. He still has the scar. They will rock ya.

If you want to loosen your teeth shoot one of those new england single shot 3 1/2's. LOL

I turkey hunt with a H&R Topper 1871 3 1/2 mag for the challenge, and not only is it a one shot challenge for me, its all I want.

Thats why I shot 3 inch shells.

I'm 6'5 275 lbs. Shot 3.5's way too long. Finally realized I could make a 3 inch shell do the same things as 3.5's. Without the punch.

I'd shoot 2&3/4 , except I subconsciously think that I might not kill one, but would with 3". Of course, that's riduculous(I had an uncle who wore em out with hi-brass 2&3/4, 7&1/2s). But you always try to give yourself whatever edge that you can. At least I wont be tempted to use 3&1/2", as my gun is chambered for 3", and I ain't buyin another one. LOL
