I just started turkey hunting this last spring and man am i hooked. I limited out Yahoo!! So i understand fall is alot tougher exspecially since i am disabled and can not do the running threw a flock and call them back trick. I got drawn for the cheatham fall hunt and could use any advise you could give me. I know the hills are striaght down there and only have about one trip down and back up in me, so i will be sticking to the ridges i can get to easy. I will be going there in the next week or two to do a little scouting. Do the turkeys come up hill when they come off roost like in the spring? Is there a good locator call to use in the fall to help find roosting trees (early morning and late evening) Thanks in advance for the help.

Find fresh sign in the woods - scratch and droppings, and they are probably going to be through that area again. Fall hunting is more about finding a flock, and either trying to call them in or sneaking around and ambushing them, or just stalking till you are in range. If you can find where they roost then that's a big bonus for setting up in the morning.

bring a keekee call I wouldn't call on roost try to roost them then keekee to them when they either about to fly off or on the ground.
