I was at a check station on Saturday morning, and I noticed a stack of green colored papers that were labeled "Fall survey Report" I think. It had columns and headings such as number of hens, number of poults, southern or northern end of the county, etc. etc. I didn't ask about them because I just thought that the worker there probably didn't know anything about them either. I may stop by again soon and look at them closer and ask about them. This was in Giles county.

Any body seen these? Do they put these out ever year? Or would this be something state biologist are conducting. I found it very interesting.

I would think you are referring to the Wild Turkey Survey Report forms mentioned on page 4 of the report below.

Not what I saw Andy S. Not left overs either. I will look at them on the way home from work today.

It is either something that biologist have left there or a survey that we sportsmen are to fill out. I have just never noticed them.

It's a poult/brood survey

I understand that, but is it for us commoners, or for TWRA and the state biologist? Have they always had these for us to take and do? I have never noticed them.

I do know that they do a fall survey every year, and post the results up. (For some reason I still haven't seen where they posted the 2013 research, only goes back to 2012.)

They started it for us last year to get more "eyes on" instead of relying on just what wardens and biologists observed while out and about. It gives them data on poult recruiting

I will pick some up and try to observe. I would love to turn in a report of a single hen with 3-4 poults. But the last 10 years or so I haven't seen a poult within a 10-12 mile radius of my hunting land. I try to improve habitat every year.
