Favorite squirrel hunting 22

Out of the box, the CZ rifles are generally pretty nice. If you want something somewhat custom, find a cheap Ruger 10/22 and toss a green mtn or other higher-grade barrel on it. Then pick from the bunches of aftermarket stocks out there. Upgrade the trigger and go kill squirrels. I have several of each and they are all lots of fun!

I built a 10/22 for my son several years ago. It's in a Boyd's thumbhole stock, Volquarzen Aluminum Tension barrel, all Volquarzen/CPC internal parts and the only part that remains Ruger is the receiver. It's a tack driver!

My Dad bought one when I was born in 1957. It was stolen out of our house before I started walking :(
Had my 39A stolen. I got it back because the idiot who stole it sold it at a pawn shop and used his real ID. I had him put in jail for that. It was my first gun. Given to me at around 14 for a Christmas present. It's a safe queen these days.

We have and use:
1. Henry youth carbine (her)
2. Glenfield M20 (me) mid 1970s
3. Mossberg 46B(b) (me) 1947-49
4. Stevens M44 (her) pre-1915 model
5. Heritage .22/.22wmr (her)
6. Iver Johnson 55A Target (me)
7. NAA .22wmr (her)
I used the Glenfield as a coyote rifle in the early 90s. CCI was $2.95/100, and I got $10/coyote, whole. Pretty decent return on the investment. Rifle was in the box, unfired, belonged to my grandfather.
