My brothers-in-law and myself hunted the archery only quota hunt and Fall Creek Falls this weekend and with 10 minutes of legal shooting light left this evening the oldest and myself doubled up. I got a text from him telling me he just got one, and I had started the mental winddown that my decision to make an aggressive move from where I had being seen alot of deer, but no chance to shoot, didn't look like it was going to pay off. I moved this evening in an effort to get a chance on deer moving through this location I thought they were coming through at sunset. I had been seeing alot of deer, and especially bucks11 different ones in 3 days and most with 5 yards of my stand, but no chance was given because they were blowing through the area at mach 2 either chansing a hot doe, or chasing a subordinate buckand I couldn't stop the first one, no matter what. So, as soon as I got through reading his text, I heard footsteps off to my left. The lead doe either stayed out of range at 50 yards, or was at 20 hidden behind brush. The trailer doe followed the exact same path until she stopped broadside in front of me at 28 yards with 5 minutes of legal shooting light to spare. The G5 Striker did its job and the 4 1/2 year old, 95# field dressed doe crashed 80 yards from me. After a 1 1/2 mile pull, with all my gear and both deer on my cart, I was headed back home to Nashville!
