Anyone shoot federal fusion bullets? I haven't seen 30-30 ammo in stores for a long time, but Academy had some federal fusion 150gr soft tips this morning so I bought 4 boxes. I've always shot Winchester super X power points out of my 30-30 and they always served me well. I'm gonna shoot the target with the Fusions to confirm POI. I was wondering if anyone here shoots em and if y'all had any complaints about the Federal bullets.

My kid shoots the 223 out of an AR for deer. They seem to do the trick. They do not bleed a lot, but I figure that is more the caliber than bullet. It might not blow that softball size hole out like the power points.

Love them for my 30-30 and 7MM-08. I typically shoot the 170 grain Fusions from the 30-30 but can't imagine it'd make a big difference.

Good accuracy from my rifles. Good performance on deer. I've been on the hunt for some for a while. I think you struck gold with that find.

I have witnessed 4 deer shot with Fusions. Two were with a 223 and incredible damage but smaller deer. The other two were last year with a 6.5 Creed. One was a doe and a bang, flop due to shot placement. The other was a 4.5 yo buck behind the shoulder and ran maybe 50 yds with a great blood trail. My son's 6.5 also shoots these at around 0.5" group at 100 yds. So there are no complaints with my experience.

I shot 130 gr out of a .270 and although they did the trick and were definitely deadly and accurate, I feel that weight retention was an issue. It seemed that every deer I shot had incredible amount of meat loss especially around the exit, where fragmentation expanded the wound channel drastically. I changed rounds and haven't had the same experiences.

Killed a doe with them out of my 30-30 last year at about 60 yards. She dropped dead. Bullet performed well also with a good pass through.
