Shot one of the 410 loads the other day. Had a pretty good head wind so just shot one but anyway went to clean out my shot trap today and noticed a magnet doesn't pick it up like normal tss. I use a 500lb magnet so it's not that and doubt it's pure tungsten but it's got me curious why not. Any ideas why?

It must be lacking iron and nickel like other tungsten shot. Pure tungsten is 19.3gm/cc but federal website states it is 18gm/cc. I'll measure and weigh some tomorrow. Maybe it is pure

Pure tungsten is not magnetic. 18 g/cc (standard for TSS) is ~ 7% other stuff, typically including iron. That little bit of iron is what allows you to pick most up most TSS pellets with a magnet. I doubt Federal's shot is more pure than others, but there's apparently less iron in it. Probably just something about the process their supplier uses.
