I missed going out the opening day on Saturday, had a family reunion to go to. I went this morning before church and saw several hens and five gobblers. I had three in front of me most of the morning chasing hens and talking to me. I had two come in silent on me. The first one came running down the fence line to my right and I could have shot that bird, but he had a nice beard but look a little small to me so I passed. Later that morning I had one come in behind me and to my left. He must have picked me off because he made some loud clucks and went the other way.
