Whats the best way to mount a ff3 on a 870? Speedbead or a 336 mount?
I use a speedbead on my SBE but seems like Ive read somewhere that the speedbead didnt work so well on 870.

I have a ff2 on a speedbead on an 870. Honestly, I really like the concept. I think the speedbead is too easly bent. If it wouldn't cost so much I think having a 336 mount on a heavier spacer between the stock and receiver would be a better option.
But, it would take someone with machinist/gunsmith skills and equipment to come up with that. I doubt it would be cheap.

I'd shoot the gun with some chokes/loads and see where the POA/POI are.... I have been lucky so far and the ones I have owned shoot true.... or a hair high.

I had one mounted with a picatinny rail on one of my 870's..... just didn't warm up to it and sold it... got too used to shooting the bead and no worries.

Sometimes less is more..... having a sight on top is something else to worry about knocking off or battery going dead at the wrong time.

That bead won't move off the rib.... just remember to keep your cheek down on the stock until after the shot.
