After hunting last week and things being dead, I gave it a rest until today and the birds were more vocal. Only had one bird want to play at daybreak and he came strutting in and then got spooked by some cattle and left. Another bird gobbled about 3 times around 9 am that hadnt made a peep on the roost. Later today I went and checked a spot and had one gobbling his dumb head off over on property I cant hunt and I swear while he was gobbling there were hens coming out of the woodwork everywhere going to him. I finally gave up and went home and when I stepped up on the porch I could hear one bustin it loose in the hollow bellow the house. Im waitin on my neighbor to call me back and hopefully he will give me permission to hunt in there in the morning. I know exactly where he will be. They are still henned up for the most part but it is starting to get right here in the east.
