I have been specifically been after this doe for two years and we have been playing a serious cat and mouse game this seasonsometimes these old does are harder work than some old bucks. She was one of these old does that let's the little young'uns go first and she sits back and scans the treetops and then steps out. Not counting our game last season, she has caught me 4 times this season in her tree "scans", but never once blew and then leads her pack awaystaying just out of bow-range. I have moved around to different trees trying to outsmart her and I finally outsmarted her this morning with a very aggressive treestand move. Of course, the little ones came out first and she stayed in the thicket eyeballing my main tree and two others I have been in recently and then she stepped out when she saw I wasn't "there". I'm as proud of this deer as I am any of my bucks. It was a 19-yard shot, but it was with a borrowed crossbowthat is my only regret. Here she is with my two real trophies joining in the excitement!
