A friend took me out to a property he has permission to hunt and I was able to take this tom at about 45 yards. We didn't get to weigh him but he is every bit 20lbs. He has 1 inch spurs and his beard is 10 3/4 inches.

Actually we saw one even bigger but he never got within 80 yards. I asked my friend today if he went out this morning before work to see if he could get close, but he didn't make it out. I bet the big one we saw is at least 25 pounds or bigger. He was huge at 80 yards and he wasn't even strutting. The biggest bird I've ever seen.

Maybe he'll take me next weekend. That will be my last chance to go due to my work schedule.
