Looks nice! I think I am going to do this to mine. I noticed lots of spur ropes have the scales peeled off. I noticed you didn't and I had rather not go through all that process myself. Do you have any issues leaving them on?

No I've got some that are 15 years old I cover them in salt for a few days to let them dry out and they look the same forever

I do mine like the pic but I do cut the scales off. Much easier if you do so right after you kill him. Once its off and dry I take a dremmel to it and then spray with a clearcoat.
