I've got the gun broken down and the bolt completely out. How do I get the spring out to put the new one in ? Any body know? Its an 835. Thanks

not sure about that but I had one break on me on my dads 870 and sent it to gunsmith for the fix. Hope yours turns out better than mine, the guy used to be a gun smith for remington and said its the only way to fix it on those guns, but they literally pop rivited it throught the reciever. looks tacky as can be but still works.

Thanks for asking, Grizz. I haven't had a chance to take the bolt out again ( busy week). I did get it cleaned and lubed really well though when I had it out last. I've heard that this can sometimes be the root of the problem ( my firing pin hitting the shell and the shells not firing). I will try once again to break it down this weekend and see if I can get the spring out and replace it with the new one. Should be a nice weekend to get out and shoot also.

Well, if anyone needs help replacing the firing pin spring or the firing pin on a Mossberg 835 shotgun I am the guy you want to talk to :D

I FINALLY got it figured out . Tough part was figuring out how to break down the bolt. Once that was done it was a breeze. Also, if I would have had a steel punch it would have been a lot easier. But anyways, thank the Lord, its done.

Have you shot a few rounds through it to confirm it's fixed?

Congrats either way!!
