What a awesome hunt!!!!!!!!

So me and ddgonehntn got to our hunting spot about 8:30 (He over slept)Sunday morning and thought we dont have a chane at a turkey today! :D

We started walking up a hollow that had just been logged about two weeks ago just to see if we could walk upon somthing!
We get almost to the end and had stopped to look around when a train came through and blew its horn!!!
A gobbler ripped a gobble about 90 yards above us!
So we stake out some decoys and set up against some old tree stumps and started calling!
He cut us off on every call we made! But instead of coming of into the hollow and coming to us he stayed on top and came around behind us!!
The brush is really thick on the side of the ridge and you cant see anything untill it gets about 70 yards away!
Then I heard david say here he comes!
No wait there is four of them!!!! :o I turned my head and there they were about 70 yards away standing at the end of a logging road! There were some old tree tops at the end of the road and they would not come past them!
then they turned and went back up the ridge and david told me to cluck a few times!
I clucked and they turned gobbled and then come running back down the road but would not come past the tree tops!
Finaly they went back up on top and two of them went off in another hollow and the other two started back out the ridge!
Then david jumped up and said lets go!!! We grabbed the decoys and ran back down the hollow trying to get in front of them so we could get up on top and cut them off!
We get almost to the end and we heard them gobble behind us! So we cut up on top!
When we got to the top we figured they were still behind us a pretty good ways so we clucked a few times!
He ripped a gobble but was in FRONT of us only about 65 yards away!! The only thing that kept him from seeing us was the crest of the ridge!
David said hurry put a decoy out and sit against that oak tree I'll drop back off the ridge alittle bit!
I sat down clucked a few times and he gobbled again and I could hear him coming!!!!!
But instead of coming across the top of the ridge to us he he stayed kinda on the side and came around to my left!
I kept turning left following the sound of the leaves and then about 5 inches of bright red head and neck popped up over the ridge 25 yards away !!!!! then he stopped like he had seen me and I did not have my gun around on him yet!! Then david (he couldnt see him and did not have a clue what was happenning) clucked three times and he roared!!!!!! After he gobbled he stuck his head back down below the ridge!! So I swung the mossberg 500 on around and when he popped back up I sent him a load of Federal Mag-Shok #5s!!!!!!!
But then I seen one jump about ten feet, land and start running! CRAP how did I miss????
I jumped up and took off running and seen him running out the ridge! I am really sick by now!

THEN I LOOK OVER AND THERE IS MY TURKEY LAYING EXACTLY WHERE HE WAS STANDING WHEN I SHOT!!!!!!!!!! HE NEVER MOVED!!!!!!!!!

It was the second turkey that went running out the ridge!!!!!

I have been after this bird for two years!

fIRST TURKEY OF THE SEASON!! AND FIRST WITH MY MOSSBERG!!!I love it!!

Haft to say thank you david for making those three clucks and over sleeping a bit!!! :D  ;)
