I've always kept my practice at 20 and 30 yards. Tried 40 today. The group is what I'm happy with. I had already shot too much trying to dial in.

Good deal! If you can keep 2" at 20, 3" at 30, and so on, that's some good shooting!

My challenge is my equipment, not that it's bad. Just dated. Pulling 72lbs with little let off. By the 15th arrow I'm trembling. I needed the group as a confidence booster. I couldn't see the arrows against the target. My son was watching and could see them impact better than I, on the 3rd arrow he said "whoa" figured we were money at that point. Little more tweaking and we'll be ready for the woods.

Nice group , but you might want to reduce your draw weight . If you tremble after 15 shots , you are probably shooting too much draw weight .

Shooting at a target at a known distance out to 50yrds takes some practice.
Shooting at a deer in the woods and judging that distance is a different thing, something that's getting harder for me to do, that is judging distance.
I use range finder as much as possible.

Appreciate the comments. Adjusting to a new sight. Took a balloon and pinned it to the target. One arrow each at 20, 30, and 40 yards. Pretty confident in my draw weight and placement. Still not as dialed in as I would want but we are getting there.
