I finally got to get out and try out my new-to-me Remington 700 .270 caliber with the vintage original Mossy Oak Bottomland camo pattern that I recently purchased from a member here. It came with a Leupold Vari-X 2c 3-9x50 scope in matte finish which is probably exactly what I would've put on it if I had been buying a scope for it. I did have to loosen the rings and align the scope to my satisfaction with the barrel and then I bore sighted it.
I can't say exactly what load I was shooting in this rifle as I had a box of mixed hand loads, but I did have five that I was confident were just alike based on the ballistic tip bullets so that's what these five shots represent. The first three were to the right and low for my satisfaction at 100 yards so I moved at four clicks to the left and four clicks up and fired two more shots.
I would be very happy to hunt with this rifle with the scope right there. I believe this rifle was made in 1994 and it's in great shape for its age…. I am very happy with it.
