Soddy Daisy, yes it's a real place
Up on a quota hunt this morning and it's GORGEOUS weather. I could stand for it to be a little cooler but dead silent besides the occasional acorn dropping. In public land fashion this morning. I get up super early and park WAY WAY in the back. Getting my stuff out and have a truck pull up next to me and say they have their stands back in there. We have a little discussion with mapping to see where we all will be and hear in. No harm no foul and just happy to be out this morning.

I also knocked the rust off with my first sit of the year this morning. It gave me a good chance to remind myself or some important facts.

1. If you marked a tree on your GPS, climb it. Don't stomp all around the area thinking there's a better tree. You marked that one in bright daylight when you can see all around. It is the best tree.
2. Overcompensate the angle you hang your climber. It's much more comfortable to be leaning back into the tree than away.

Other than that, I had a good hunt. Saw 2 does, out of range. Had a deer that I didn't see blowing at me around 9:00 as the thermals had the wind swirling. I also saw exactly 1,968 squirrels. The amount of white oak acorns dropping g really surprised me. I was setup next to a persimmon tree, but a big oak tree next to me was raining acorns and I thought it would be the dinner bell. Wasn't.

I'll be out again tomorrow morning.
