I went out to Cheatham WMA again this morning and landed my first kills! They were very active and I'm sure I could have harvested more, but I was very excited so I left around 9:30 AM. The wet leaves made it pretty easy to spot and stalk.
I've deboned one of the tails with some pliers and I'm going to keep it as a trophy. The third squirrel got ripped in half when I tried to skin it, but I was able to salvage some of it at least.
I'm in the process of making some squirrel and dumplings as we speak. Hopefully, it'll be some good eatin'!
I thank God for a bountiful harvest today.
