Any recommendations for someone looking to purchace a bow. Spent some time doing research but seems everyone says to try shooting diffrent bows. Bass pro dosent play that game, any other options. Was leaning towards a Fred Bear!

Thanks Ron

This was my first compound bow ever.I had never even shot a bow up until 2 years ago when I bought this one..I told the bass pro guys, that i wasn't leaving until they could get me groping arrows at 20yds,and they did..If I had to reccomend a begginers bow,i'd reccomend this one..Its quiet, fast, and accurate..I don't have not one thing to complain about with it..Don't let the "redhead" name fool you,its a Diamond bow by Bowtech and has the same Bowtech warranty, the Spec sticker on the bow also says Diamond..They make them for bass pro and they just put the "redhead" name on them..Great bow IMO..

I have checked on the Redhead Kronick and seems fine to me but for some reason the guys at BPS are pushing Fred Bear. I would think they would push the Redhead products. Sure wish they had some demos set up to see if one felt better than the other.

if they don't have bows set up to shoot, i would go somewhere that does.

What bass pro you going to Ron?? I went to the one in sevierville when I went to buy my first bow and they left me shoot several.

Don't let those high dollar bows intimidate you....All I'm saying is, you don't have to have an $800 set up to kill deer.

Just gonna keep looking. I was told by BPS that the best deals would be around XMas because of the 2010 models coming out!

I was in the same spot last year and bought my first bow, a Parker Trailblazer, at Bass Pro Shops. I ended up getting a dealer only Parker Blackhawk from Dickson Sportsman a couple months later. Good Luck!

Don't buy it until you try it. BPS should be willing to let you shoot different bows. A consumer wanting to find out how a bow feels is not asking a retailer to play a "game". It is a consumer making an informed decision. It sounds like whoever was in the archery dept at BPS is too lazy to work with a customer. You don't know what bow will work best for you if you don't shoot it first.

I think I will go ahead and order the Fred Bear Game Over because mt draw is right at 30.5" and the truth 2 on maxs out at 30" from the info I am reading. Now I need to work on sights rests etc. There are a lot of options out there and I guess I will figure it out as I go!
